Srinagar: In a significant achievement for local entrepreneurship, ‘The Aapa Foods’ has been conferred the Best Agri-Food Brand award by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), recognising the brand’s commitment to quality, authenticity and innovation in the agri-food sector.
The award was presented by Vice Chancellor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who acknowledged the brand’s efforts in preserving traditional flavours while establishing a strong and credible identity in the competitive food market.
The Aapa Foods is a mentored brand under the Agricultural Branding Centre (ABC), operating under HADP-04 and supported by SKUAST-Kashmir. The initiative focuses on strengthening brand development, enabling market linkages, and empowering agri-entrepreneurs across the region. The structured mentorship and institutional backing have played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s positioning and expansion.
Founder Saadath Mohi-ud-din said the recognition reflects not only the brand’s growth but also the sustained guidance it received through institutional support. “We are grateful for the mentorship and encouragement extended to us,” he said, expressing special thanks to IBPR, Dr. Farhat Shaheen, Dr. Abid Sultan and Arif Zargar for their continued support.
Notably, ‘The Aapa Foods’ initially connected with audiences through ‘The Aapa Podcasts’, gradually evolving into a professionally recognised agri-food brand rooted in tradition. The latest honour underscores the successful blend of heritage preservation, innovation and structured entrepreneurial development.
