JAMMU, APRIL 25: Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu on Saturday organized a one-day workshop themed “Veterinarians: Guardians of Food and Health” to mark the World Veterinary Day 2026.
The Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr Syed Moin Ul Haq welcomed all the participating veterinarians of the Department. He highlighted the invaluable role of veterinarians in one health approach and their contribution in strengthening food systems, preventing zoonotic diseases and ensuring animal health. “All this depicts the vital role veterinarians play from “farm to fork” in ensuring safe, nutritious and sustainable food production” he added.
The Veterinarians also expressed their views and presented different case studies and works pertaining to the sector.
Director Industries and Commerce Jammu Dr Arun Manhas also graced the occasion being a veterinarian and expressed his views.
Among others present on the occasion included Joint Director Extension Dr Tara Chand ; Joint Director Farms Dr Sanjeev Kumar ; Deputy Director (Central) Dr. Surinder Gupta ; Assistant Project Officer Jammu-Warwan Dr Anil Kumar Kaul ; Research Officer – DIL Kartholi Dr. R.B. Singh ; Principal, Sheep and Wool Workers Training Class Kartholi Dr. Pritam Manhas; District Sheep Husbandry Officers, Sheep & Wool Development Officers, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and other staff of Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu.
