Jammu,  Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Monday said that the CM Omar Abdullah–led government is committed to restoring the city’s prominence by developing it into a citizen-friendly urban hub and a major tourism destination in the country.

This was stated by Additional General Secretary Ajay Sadhotra and Provincial President Jammu Ratan Lal Gupta while addressing a workers’ meeting of Ward No. 34, Janipur. Earlier, Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah had directed provincial unit members and office-bearers in Jammu to launch a mega outreach programme covering all 75 wards of the Jammu Municipal Corporation in preparation for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.

Acting on these directions, the party’s provincial leadership and office-bearers have initiated the outreach campaign to connect with people in all 75 wards, identify suitable candidates for each ward, an address other organisational matters.

The meeting was chaired by District President Jammu Chander Mohan Sharma and convened by Block President West Jammu, Gurnam Singh. Addressing the gathering, Ajay Sadhotra exhorted local unit functionaries to gear up for the elections by reaching out to every household and highlighting the CM Omar Abdullah–led government’s track record of good governance.
