Piyush Goyal Says Jan Vishwas Bill 2.0 To Decriminalise 1,000+ Legal Provisions

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2026 marks a major expansion of legal reforms. After decriminalising 183 provisions in the first phase, the government is now targeting over 1,000 provisions, calling it the largest such reform in India’s history aimed at improving ease of doing business and reducing compliance burden.
