Pakistan has learnt no lessons from all the devastation that it suffered devastating Indian strikes , under Operation Sindoor, launched on the intervening night of May 6 and 7 last year . It continues to harp on the narrative that is nothing more than obsolete reiteration on Kashmir.
There were hopes in India , that Pakistan would draw its lessons after its request for ceasefire was granted by India on May 10, 2025 . Pakistan had suffered huge losses to its military and Airforce assets as it chose to retaliate to the initial Indian strikes at terror camps of Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizb-ul-Mujahedeen . This misinterpreted India’s anti-terror operation as “ Indian aggression on its sovereignty and territorial integrity”, obscuring the fact that Indian armed forces had targeted terror training centers and terrorists only . India had made it a point not to target any civilian, government and military establishment of the neighbouring country. And it was also conveyed to the DGMO of Pakistan , but Pakistan that considers and believes that terrorists as its symbols of territorial integrity and sovereignty , retaliated by violating the ceasefire on borders and Line of Control , and with repeated attempts to target Indian military assets it triggered an all-out war. It made a mistake and lost the war. It lost it badly and finally requested for the ceasefire, which was granted.
A year after, it was expected that Pakistan would have learnt few lesson and work accordingly . But it is all the same. It has refused to learn from its past blunders . It continues to thrive on narratives that have no value whatsoever . Worse still , its advocacy of terrorism as a justifiable means to achieve something is a global threat.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who doubles up as Foreign Minister on Wednesday night used highly inappropriate and threatening language against India while interacting with diplomatic corps of his country . He called India’s anti-terror operation as “ Indian aggression “, completely obliterating the fact that it was only after the bloodshed in Pahalgam executed by Pakistani terrorists .
There, however, is a glaring contradiction in his statements accusing India of mounting aggression which was valiantly fought by Pakistani forces , yet he thanks President Donald Trump of the United States of America for “ helping achieve a ceasefire.” It is a bizarre logic that Pakistan mounted a supposed counteroffensive to the “ Indian aggression “, and yet it commended the “ role and efforts of President Trump in helping achieve a ceasefire and in bringing South Asia back from the brink of an unprecedented disaster.’
Ishaq Dar articulated his country’s obstinacy on Kashmir, despite knowing that it no longer is an issue . It uses “ K” as a ploy to hide its lethal intentions and actions of mounting repeated terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of India . This also serves as a ploy to befool the international community in spreading an impression that Kashmir issue remains unresolved and it is only standing in solidarity with the people , wo according to him, were fighting for the “ right to self-determination.”
The semantics are same what Pakistan has been using over the decades to justify its active participation and support to the acts of terror in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country- India has not forgotten assault on the Indian Parliament or 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks , nor will it ever forget the Pahalgam terror attack. Indian leadership has served several reminders that Operation Sindoor is on/
