One dead as car falls into gorge in Mandi tehsil of Poonch

Poonch, Feb 16: One person was killed on the spot after a vehicle met with an accident in the the Seklu area of Mandi tehsil of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to SHO Mandi, Neko Ram Thakur, a Wagon R vehicle bearing registration number JK12 6143 was on its way from Poonch to Mandi when it suddenly went out of the driver’s control at Seklu and fell into a gorge. As a result, Mohammad Zubair, son of Nazir Hussain, a resident of Seklu Mandi, died on the spot.

He further stated that the body was later shifted to Sub-District Hospital Mandi for legal formalities.

“After completing the required procedures, the body will be handed over to the family for last rites,” he said.
