Srinagar, Aug 28: The Odisha Cricket Association (CA) defeated the JKCA’s Jammu and Kashmir cricket team by 118 runs in the Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament after the latter suffered a dramatic batting collapse in the second innings on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 225, J&K were bowled out for 106 in 34.5 overs. Musaif Aijaz top-scored with 47, but no other batter managed to resist as the Odisha bowlers, led by Syed Tuffel Ahammed (4/33) and Rajesh Mohanty (2/24), tightened their grip.
Earlier, Odisha posted 314 in the first innings, powered by Rajesh Dhupar’s 104, while J&K replied with 330, taking a slender 16-run lead through Paras Dogra’s 141 and Abid Mushtaq’s 71. In the second innings, Govind Poddar (72) and Subhranshu Senapati (55) guided Odisha to 240, setting a challenging target.
