NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang Explains Why AI Won’t Steal Software Engineering Jobs

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed fears of AI replacing programmers as “complete nonsense.” Speaking on the arrival of “Agentic AI”- AI that acts as autonomous assistants. Huang revealed mind-blowing GitHub data from early 2026 showing that software code commits have nearly tripled. He explained that instead of cutting jobs, AI is transforming $3 trillion in developer salaries into an astonishing $9 trillion of economic productivity. Because the output per engineer has skyrocketed so dramatically, Huang argues that global industries will aggressively hire more software engineers to capitalise on this unprecedented tech boom.
