SRINAGAR: Polling continued steadily on Tuesday across Jammu Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies, with official figures by 3 p.m. indicating significant voter participation.

Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77) recorded a turnout of approximately 65.14 percent by mid-afternoon, while Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27) saw around 42.64 percent of registered voters casting their ballots. Authorities expect turnout in Budgam to rise as polling continues.

Polling officials reported that despite cold conditions in several areas, voters arrived at booths in consistent numbers. Security forces were deployed across both constituencies to ensure smooth and peaceful voting.

A total of 17 candidates are contesting the seats, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, Peoples Democratic Party’s Aga Syed Muntazir, and BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin.
