Muslim Personal Law Board J&K passes key resolutions on social reform, environmental protection

An important meeting organized by the Muslim Personal Law Board Jammu & Kashmir discussed in detail various issues concerning social reform, environmental protection, moral awareness, family stability, agricultural development, and public welfare.

The meeting emphasised that collective awareness, practical measures, and moral responsibility are essential for building a healthy, dignified, self-reliant, balanced, and civilized society.

As per a press release, several significant resolutions were unanimously passed during the meeting, including launching a mass “No to Plastic” campaign against the excessive use of plastic, promoting interest-free and ethical trade practices, encouraging self-reliance, taking strict action against food adulteration, protecting Dal Lake and other water bodies, promoting plantation drives, preventing illegal deforestation, safeguarding agricultural land, and encouraging natural and sustainable farming practices.

The meeting expressed serious concern over rising unemployment and described the agricultural sector as an effective means for employment generation and self-sufficiency among youth. Participants also stressed the need to reduce unnecessary use of vehicles in order to tackle pollution, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation by promoting shared transportation systems and a simpler lifestyle.

The meeting further emphasized equipping the younger generation with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Muslim Personal Law Board Jammu & Kashmir and Grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir Nasir Ul Islam Farooqi. The meeting was attended by Vice President MPL board Syed Mohammad Aslam Andrabi, General Secretary Prof. Mohammad Yaseen Kirmani, and others. Members from all 20 districts, including Leh-Ladakh, actively participated in the meeting of the Muslim Personal Law Board Jammu & Kashmir.
