MP Mian Altaf questions India’s silence to condemn US-Israel attack on Iran, killing of it’s supreme leader

New Delhi, Mar 26: National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad on Wednesday questioned the India’s silence to condemn the US-Israel attack on Iran and killing of it’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a statement issued, Mian Altaf Ahmad raised this issue and other concerns during the All Party Meeting called by the Union Government to discuss the escalating West Asia conflict and its impact on India. The meeting, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri and opposition leaders.

Mian Altaf said that it was surprising that India being a non aligned country choose to remain silent in condemnation of US-Israel attack on Iran that killed its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He said that the US-Israel-led war is not in anyone’s interest and will impact the whole world and affect the people and trigger a global energy crisis.

Mian Altaf however, appreciated the government’s efforts in managing the energy crisis so far and urged the government to ensure that the availability of the essential commodities amid the present situation in west Asia.
