SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted partly to generally cloudy weather across Jammu and Kashmir today, with intermittent spells of light rain and thundershowers expected at several places.

The forecast also indicates the possibility of gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph, along with isolated hailstorms, particularly during the afternoon and late afternoon hours at a few locations.

From April 20 to April 23, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, offering relief to residents and facilitating normal public and agricultural activities across the Union Territory.

However, between April 24 and April 25, conditions are likely to turn partly to generally cloudy once again, with one or two brief spells of light rain or thundershowers expected at several places. Gusty winds may also occur at isolated locations during the late afternoon and evening.

On April 26, a short spell of light rain or thundershower accompanied by gusty winds is likely at a few places in the afternoon.

Thereafter, dry weather conditions are expected to prevail on April 27 and April 28.

The MeT Centre has further forecast another brief spell of light rain or thundershower, along with gusty winds, at isolated places on April 29 and April 30 during the late afternoon hours.

In its advisory, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar has urged farmers to resume agricultural operations from April 20 onwards, noting that weather conditions are expected to remain largely favourable in the coming days.
