Kupwara, April 05: A young man from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district died in Saudi Arabia following a cardiac arrest, with his family on Sunday seeking government assistance for the repatriation of his body to his native village in Lolab.

Bilal Manzoor, a resident of Sogam area in Lolab, passed away while working in Saudi Arabia, relatives said. His death has prompted an appeal to the Jammu and Kashmir administration to facilitate the return of his body at the earliest.

Manzoor was employed at a defense hospital in Saudi Arabia, where he had been working when he suffered the cardiac arrest. The incident came as a shock to his family and acquaintances in Kupwara, who said he had not been suffering from any prolonged illness.

Relatives said Manzoor was the son of a former vice principal of Army Goodwill School in Chandigam. He had completed his schooling from the same institution in 2015 before moving abroad for employment.

The family has urged authorities to assist in completing the required formalities for transporting the body back to Kashmir so that last rites can be performed in his native village. [KNT]
