SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition and senior BJP leader Sunil Kumar Sharma on Saturday asserted that the National Conference (NC) is set to face a humiliating defeat in the upcoming Budgam by-election.
Addressing a large public rally in the Budgam constituency, Sharma confidently projected BJP victory, claiming that voters have recognised the difference between empty promises and tangible development.
“On November 14, the people will write a new chapter in Budgam’s political history. The NC will face a crushing defeat, and the BJP will emerge victorious,” Sharma said while campaigning for the party candidate Aga Syed Mohsin.
Sharma accused the NC of decades of deceit and dynastic politics, asserting that the people of Jammu and Kashmir now support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed and prosperous region.
Launching a strong attack on the opposition, he declared: “Those who can stop BJP in Kashmir are yet to be born. The era of fear and falsehood is over. Now, the lotus will bloom in every village and town of the Valley.”
Sharma praised Aga Mohsin as a dynamic leader with strong grassroots connections and a commitment to public service. “The people of Budgam deserve a young and energetic voice like him in the Assembly to carry forward the message of change and inclusive growth,” he added.
Concluding his address, Sharma stated that the days of corruption, nepotism, and emotional exploitation are over, emphasising that the future lies in empowerment, accountability, and progress under the BJP amid cheers from supporters. (KNO)
