Kupwara, May 13: The detailed itinerary for the Lieutenant Governor’s visit to Kupwara as part of ongoing hundred-day under ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan’ on Wednesday, outlines a series of administrative, developmental and public engagement programmes scheduled across multiple locations in the north Kashmir district.
The day’s schedule begins with the Lieutenant Governor’s departure to BHSS Kupwara Ground for a National Mission for Balanced Agriculture related event, followed by arrival at the Boys Higher Secondary School ground where formal proceedings are planned.
The programme opens with the National Song and National Anthem, followed by the welcome address by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara. A presentation and screening under the NMBA framework is also part of the agenda, along with a cultural programme centred on the same theme.
Awards will be presented to winners of district level reel making competition under NMBA. The Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to administer the NMBA pledge and address the gathering.
The programme also includes unveiling of trophies for district level sports activities, including volleyball championship and Kupwara Forest Cricket League 2026, with interaction sessions with players.
As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a cycle rally will be flagged off, followed by a pad yatra from BHSS Ground to Shaheed Chowk Regipora, where a signature campaign under the anti-drug initiative will conclude.
The itinerary further includes movement to Trehgam for flag off of a mobile TB screening van and inspection of departmental stalls under the Vibrant Village Programme. Video presentations on development initiatives will also be screened.
Key welfare and development interventions are scheduled, including e-launch of schemes in Vibrant Blocks of Kupwara and distribution of sanction letters under HADP, Mission Yuva and PMAY, along with engagement and offer letters in various sectors.
The visit will conclude with an address by the Lieutenant Governor, followed by formal proceedings at 68 Mountain Brigade Headquarters in Trehgam before departure to Srinagar.
