Kupwara DC, SSP thank stakeholders for anti-drug padyatra participation

Kupwara, May 13: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, and Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Al Tahir Geelani, on Wednesday expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their massive participation in the anti-drug padyatra organised under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign.

The district’s top officers thanked the people of Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, CRPF, Traffic Police, NCC cadets, SDRF, NDRF, Health Department, Education Department, paramilitary forces, students, volunteers and members of civil society for their active involvement in ensuring the peaceful and successful conduct of the programme.

They said the large-scale participation reflected a collective resolve to counter the growing menace of drug abuse and highlighted the importance of sustained awareness efforts to safeguard youth from the harmful effects of narcotics.

The officers said the district administration and police remain committed to strengthening public outreach and continuing coordinated action against drug abuse with active community participation.

They also appreciated the role of political leaders and public representatives who supported the initiative and encouraged continued collective efforts towards achieving a drug-free Kupwara.

The padyatra witnessed significant participation from multiple sections of society, underscoring increasing public awareness and unity against substance abuse in the district.
