KPDCL, JKPTCL Announce Scheduled Power Shutdowns in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have issued a schedule of power shutdowns across Srinagar and parts of South Kashmir to facilitate branch cutting, preventive maintenance, and system strengthening works over the coming weeks.

According to KPDCL, shutdowns will affect multiple areas in Srinagar from September 27 to October 12. On September 27, the 33KV Rawalpora Bagh-i-Mehtab line and Rawalpora Chanapora line will remain shut from 10 am to 4 pm, disrupting supply to Bagh-i-Mehtab, Gopalpora, Kralpora, Mochwa, Chanapora, Lalnagar, Methan, Nowgam, Natipora, Budshah Nagar and adjoining areas.

On September 29, the Rawalpora Rangreth line and Rawalpora Air Force line will remain shut during the same hours, affecting power supply to Rangreth, Wanbal, Kralpora, Gogo, Yayil, Peerbagh, Humhama, Hyderpora and surrounding localities. The Budgam SIDCO Tap line will also be shut from 9 am to 3 pm, affecting Sheikhpora, Ompora, Bhathara, Housing Colony, Mohanpora, Khanpora, Zorigund, Wadipora and SIDCO.

On October 5, the shutdown of the GIS Tengpora Grid-Exhibition Cargo line will affect Exhibition, Batamaloo, PCR, HSHS Market and Firdousabad. The following day, October 6, the Rawalpora Silk Factory line and GIS Tengpora Grid Narkara line will remain shut, impacting Allochibagh, Rambagh, Tulsibagh, Cargo, Narkara, Galwanpora, Gangbugh, Shah Anwar Colony, Gulbahar Colony and West End Colony.

On October 7, shutdowns will be enforced on the GIS Tengpora Allochibagh Bund line and the GIS Tengpora KP Bagh line, cutting off supply to Allochibagh, Bulbulbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Nagar, Soiteng, and KP Bagh. On October 8, the TRC Rajbagh line will be shut, affecting Rajbagh, Kursoo and Gogjibagh.

On Oct 12, shutdowns of the Bemina Exhibition line and Bemina-KP Bagh line will affect Court Complex, GIS Batamaloo, Tengpora Station, Rakh-i-Arth, Hamdania Colony, Batamaloo, Moominabad, Batamaloo Market and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, JKPTCL has also announced shutdowns in Anantnag and Kulgam districts for preventive maintenance. On September 27, Receiving Stations at Ashajipora, Janglatmandi, Brakpora, Malaknag, Dialgam, Mirbazar, Quimoh, Redwani, Harnag, Naibasti, Sarnal, Anchidora, Akura, Vessu, Qazigund, Chowgam, Kund and Railway will remain off from 10 am to 4 pm.

On September 30, Receiving Stations at Kokernag, Dandipora, Hiller, Arkhahsipora, Hillar Toll Post, Dooru, Verigund, Shankerpora and Chowgund will remain off during the same hours, affecting adjoining areas.

Both KPDCL and JKPTCL have advised residents in the affected areas to take note of the shutdown schedule.
