Khelo India Water Sports ends in Srinagar, Madhya Pradesh tops with 18 medals

Srinagar, Aug 23: Madhya Pradesh emerged as the undisputed champion of the Khelo India Water Sports Festival 2025, clinching the top spot in the medal tally with an impressive 18 medals, including 10 gold, three silver, and five bronze, as the three-day event concluded at Dal Lake on Saturday.

Odisha finished second with four gold, five silver, and one bronze (10 medals), while Kerala secured third place with three gold, one silver, and three bronze (7 medals).

Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab followed with three medals each, while the hosts, Jammu & Kashmir, finished seventh, earning one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand rounded out the top 10.

The festival, held from August 21 to 23, brought together athletes from across India to compete in various water sports disciplines, showcasing the region’s potential as a water sports hub.

Organised under the Khelo India initiative, the event aimed to identify grassroots talent and promote adventure and water-based sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
