Jammu Kashmir: Govt Assigns Additional Charge of IT and Public Grievances Departments to Senior IAS Officer | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Lieutenant Governor on Wednesday assigned the additional charge of the Information Technology and Public Grievances Departments to senior IAS officer Saurabh Bhagat, alongside his existing responsibilities.

According to Government Order No. 1038-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated June 3, issued by the General Administration Department, Saurabh Bhagat (IAS, AGMUT: 2002), who is presently serving as Commissioner/Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, will also hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary of the Information Technology Department and Public Grievances Department until further orders.

The order stated that the arrangement has been made in the interest of administration and will remain effective until further notice.

Bhagat, a 2002-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, is originally from Madhya Pradesh and was born on April 30, 1977. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management, a Master’s degree in Psychology and a qualification in Company Law.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has served in several key administrative roles in the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. His previous assignments include Director General of JK IMPARD and Commissioner/Secretary in departments such as Skill Development, Science and Technology, Labour and Employment, and Tribal Affairs.
