
Srinagar, Mar 16: Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir‑ul‑Islam, on Monday extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community on Shab-e-Qadr, which falls during the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadhan.
In a message issued on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadar, the Grand Mufti said that Shab-e-Qadr holds immense spiritual significance in Islam.
Referring to the Holy Quran, he said the night has been described as “better than a thousand months,” highlighting its unparalleled virtues and blessings.
He said that the Holy Quran was revealed during this night, making it one of the most sacred occasions in the Islamic calendar.
Quoting the teachings of Islam, he said “Angels descend to the earth on this blessed night with the permission of Almighty Allah, bringing peace and mercy until the break of dawn. The night is a manifestation of Allah’s immense grace and mercy upon the believers,” he said.
The Grand Mufti also referred to the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which emphasise the importance of spending the night in prayer, remembrance of Allah, and seeking forgiveness for past sins.
He urged the faithful to make the most of the sacred occasion through prayers, recitation of the Holy Quran, and supplications.
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam said that the last 10 days of Ramadan hold special significance and provide believers with an opportunity to strengthen their spiritual connection with the Almighty.
As the holy month of Ramadan nears its conclusion, he prayed that Allah accepts the prayers, fasting, and good deeds of the believers and grants peace, prosperity, and well-being to the people.
“May Allah protect us from calamities and grant us happiness and prosperity,” the Grand Mufti said and prayed for the welfare of humanity.
