
SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday ordered a fresh reshuffle in the Transport Department, transferring and posting three Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTOs) across the Kashmir division with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 30-JK(TR) of 2026 issued by the Transport Department, Civil Secretariat, Mehnaz Chisti (JKAS) has been transferred from ARTO Pulwama and posted as ARTO (Headquarters) Srinagar. Mohammad Shafait (JKAS) has been shifted from ARTO Kupwara to ARTO Pulwama, while Anis Ahmad Wani (JKAS) has been moved from ARTO (HQR) Srinagar to ARTO Shopian.
The order further specifies that the posting of Anis Ahmad Wani to Shopian will relieve the ARTO Kulgam from holding additional charge of the post.
In a related arrangement, the ARTO Baramulla has been directed to hold the additional charge of ARTO Kupwara alongside his existing duties until further orders.
The transfers have been made “in the interest of administration” and take effect immediately.
The order has been issued by Avny Lavasa, Secretary to the Government, Transport Department, and circulated to all concerned authorities including the General Administration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Transport Commissioner JK, and Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, and Kupwara for compliance.
The communication has also been endorsed by Nighat Parveen, Under Secretary to the Government, Transport Department.
