GMC Doda Places Employee Under Suspension After Arrest

SRINAGAR: The Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Doda has issued an order placing Multitasking Staff at Associated Hospital GMC Doda, under suspension with immediate effect.

According to the order FIR No. 187/2025 under Sections 333, 304, 307, 115(2), 191(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) stands registered against the said employee at Police Station Doda. The college received formal intimation from the Station House Officer, Police Station Doda, regarding his arrest and subsequent remand to police custody for five days.

The order cites Rule 31(b) of the JK Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, which provides that any government servant detained in police custody for more than 48 hours is deemed to have been placed under suspension by the competent authority.

It further states that the suspension is without prejudice to any further departmental proceedings, which may be initiated depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation and trial. (KNC)
