
SRINAGAR: Authorities in Ganderbal have issued a 24-hour avalanche advisory following forecasts of medium-intensity avalanches in the region. Residents, tourists, and nomadic communities have been urged to exercise caution and avoid movement in high-risk areas.
The official advisory states that the avalanche threat is expected above 2,400 meters and emphasizes that people should refrain from venturing into slopes, hilly terrain, and higher reaches until further notice.
The administration has called for full cooperation from the public to ensure safety and has provided 24×7 contact numbers for emergencies through the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC) at 0194-2416260, 0194-2416261, and 8493868773.
