
SRINAGAR: Four Army personnel were killed and nine others injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, according to Daily Excelsior.
The accident occurred at Khanni Top along the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road. The bullet-proof Army vehicle, carrying 17 personnel, was heading to a high-altitude post when the driver reportedly lost control, causing it to plunge into a 200-foot-deep gorge.
A joint rescue operation by the Army and police recovered four bodies, while nine soldiers were rescued with injuries. Three critically injured personnel were airlifted to the Udhampur Military Hospital for specialised treatment.
