SRINAGAR: National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday confirmed that his party will take part in the INDIA bloc meeting scheduled for June 8.
Speaking to reporters at Hazratbal in Srinagar, Abdullah said the National Conference remains a member of the opposition alliance and will be represented at the forthcoming meeting.
He stated that a party representative would attend the session, adding, “We are part of the INDIA bloc,” when asked whether he would personally participate.
While he did not disclose who would represent the party, his remarks ended speculation over the National Conference’s participation in the opposition alliance meeting.
The INDIA bloc, which brings together several opposition parties from across the country, has been engaging in consultations on various political and national matters.
The National Conference continues to be part of the alliance and has consistently supported cooperation among opposition parties on issues relating to Jammu and Kashmir as well as wider national concerns.
