Rajouri, Jul 22: On day two of his visit in border district Poonch, the Director General of Police (DGP), Nalin Prabhat , chaired a high level joint security review for upcoming Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra – 2025.
The Police Chief had arrived in Poonch on Monday evening where he visited Surankote and Mandi sub divisions besides paying obeisance at Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Temple in Mandi.
On Tuesday, the DGP chaired a high level joint security review meeting at District Police Office Poonch. Among other senior officers of Police, Army, Central Paramilitary Forces as well as officers of intelligence agencies, Special DGP Javaid Gillani, IGP Jammu Zone Bhimsen Tuti, and IG CRPF Gopal K Rao were also present. Threadbare discussion was held on all issues concerning Shri Baba Budha Amarnath pilgrimage set to start on July 27th.
The field officers presented a detailed review of arrangements made for peaceful conduct of pilgrimage with emphasis on elaborate security arrangements for all half points, base camps, main temple and especially along the route of pilgrimage.
It was further informed that the National Highway 144A from Jammu to Poonch via Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Rajouri, Bhimber Gali shall be the designate route of movement of Yatra convoy and no sideway movement of vehicles shall be allowed.
Besides, the cut off timing for movement of Yatra vehicles towards Poonch from Jammu Rajouri side shall be 3 pm from Bhimber Gali and vice versa from Poonch side.
The Jammu and Kashmir police chief issued a set of directions for field forces to ensure elaborate arrangements of security for pilgrimage.
