SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Monday visited Baltal to review the preparations for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025 through the Baltal route.
The Deputy CM chaired a high-level meeting at JKTDC Sonamarg, where district administration and officials from various departments briefed him on the measures being taken for the safe and smooth conduct of the Yatra.
During the visit, Choudhary conducted a department-wise review of arrangements at the Baltal Base Camp and along the Yatra track. He urged all departments to work in coordination and remain proactive to ensure adequate arrangements are in place.
Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, the Deputy CM said the successful conduct of the Yatra would send a positive message across the country and contribute to tourism revival in Jammu and Kashmir.
He highlighted the Yatra’s significance, terming it a major religious event that attracts pilgrims from across the country. He called on officials to ensure proper facilities, with focus on safety, sanitation, healthcare, traffic management, and other essential services.
The Deputy CM also appreciated the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for its role in maintaining the Yatra track from Domail to the holy cave.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority, Bilal Mukhtar; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangan; Executive Engineers from various departments, and senior officers from the district administration.
