SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam on Friday attached residential properties belonging to two alleged drug peddlers in the Chadoora area as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking.

In the first case, police attached a one-storey residential house worth around Rs 30 lakh at Chitroo Dangarpora belonging to Ghulam Nabi Wani in connection with FIR No. 181/2025 registered under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chadoora.

Police said that during investigation of the case, more than 300 kilograms of poppy husk were recovered from the premises last year. Investigators further found that the property had allegedly been acquired through proceeds from drug trafficking and was being used for the storage, processing and distribution of contraband substances.

In a separate operation at Hassipora Chadoora, police attached a two-storey residential house worth nearly Rs 50–55 lakh belonging to Mohd Hashim Raina in connection with FIR No. 35/2026 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chadoora.

According to police, more than nine kilograms of a charas-like substance had been recovered last month from a band saw mill in Kasermulla village during investigation of the case.

Police said the action was taken under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act to dismantle narcotics networks and target assets allegedly created through the illegal drug trade.

Budgam Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug abuse and warned of strict legal action against those involved in narcotics trafficking and related unlawful activities.
