Jammu, 15, April 2026: In a significant move to gear up for the upcoming political challenges in the region, the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) held a high-level organizational meeting today at its district office. The meeting, convened by Abhay Bakaya, District President Jammu Urban, was chaired by Provincial Vice President Arun Chibber.

The session saw the participation of senior provincial office bearers, the District Committee, and various wing heads, marking a concerted effort to streamline the party’s strategy ahead of critical electoral battles.
Strategic Focus: Organizational & Local Elections

The primary agenda centered on the upcoming Party Organization Elections, aimed at democratizing and strengthening the internal structure of the JKAP.

Furthermore, the leadership deliberated extensively on the roadmap for the much-anticipated Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections.
During the meeting, leaders provided diverse inputs on:
Enhancing grassroots mobilization.
Identifying key local issues impacting the Jammu Urban electorate.
Ensuring transparency and meritocracy in the internal election process.
Grassroots Outreach and “People-to-People” Contact

Addressing the gathering, Arun Chibber emphasized that the party must bridge the gap between the administration and the public. To achieve this, a resolution was passed to conduct a series of ward-level meetings across Jammu in the coming weeks.
”Our strength lies in our connection with the common citizen. We are transitioning from boardroom strategy to direct action. Every ward in Jammu will see an active Apni Party presence to address the grievances of the people on their doorsteps,” Chibber stated.

The meeting also served as a platform to critique the current political landscape. Leaders Ajaz Kazmi and Pavneet kaur expressed strong resentment against the National Conference (NC), accusing them of misleading the public during recent polls.

Abhay Bakaya pointed out that the NC has “miserably failed” to implement the promises made in their manifesto. “The gap between their rhetoric and reality is widening. The people of Jammu feel betrayed by the hollow slogans of the NC, and the Apni Party stands as the only credible alternative focused on development and regional dignity rather than emotional exploitation,” Bakaya added.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous pledge to work tirelessly to ensure that the Apni Party emerges as a dominant force in the upcoming local body polls, with a focus on restoring the economic and social vibrancy of Jammu. Meeting was attended by Provincial Media Incharge Vaibhav Mattoo, Provincial joint Secretary Mohamed Asif, District Vice President Jammu Urban Joginder Singh, Secretary District Jammu Urban G.L Pandita, District President Minority Wing jammu Dalbir Singh, District President Women Wing Ritu Pandita
