SRINAGAR: Intensifying its action against narcotics-linked assets, the district administration on Friday demolished residential properties belonging to two alleged drug peddlers on the outskirts of Jammu, officials said.
Accompanied by heavy police deployment, bulldozers moved into Indira Nagar Colony in Miran Sahib and razed the houses linked to the accused individuals.
Officials said the action was taken under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, RS Pura, Anuradha Thakur and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gurmeet Singh supervised the demolition drive at the site.
The latest action follows similar measures taken a day earlier, when three houses of alleged drug peddlers were demolished in Rajiv Nagar locality. Earlier, on April 18, two more properties linked to NDPS-accused individuals were brought down in the Belicharana area as part of the continued crackdown.(KINS)
