Kupwara: A delegation of the All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA), District Kupwara, on Monday called on the newly posted Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara in his office chamber. The delegation warmly welcomed the officer to the district, extending their best wishes for a productive and people-centric tenure.
The association members as per Alfaaz – The Words, presented a detailed written representation, drawing attention to several pressing issues affecting revenue staff in the district.
The delegation stressed the immediate need for commencing the long-pending digitization of land records, establishment of fully equipped and computerized laboratories to facilitate the process, and allocation of four specific working days exclusively for digitization tasks.
Highlighting operational challenges, the delegation also underlined the burden placed on patwaris, who are managing additional halqas (revenue jurisdictions) over and above their regular assignments, which they said was impacting efficiency and service delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner, after giving the delegation a patient and attentive hearing, assured his full cooperation and support in addressing these concerns, noting the importance of strengthening the revenue machinery to improve public services.
