Crime Branch Kashmir Registers Case Over Forged Identity and Fake Documents – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has registered a case against an individual for allegedly fabricating identity and producing forged documents to falsely claim brotherhood with another person.

According to a statement, the EOW received a written complaint alleging that Amir Ahmad Munshi, son of Late Ghulam Ahmad Munshi, who is in fact the son of Showkat Hussain Bhat, resident of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, Srinagar, had impersonated himself as the complainant’s brother.

It was further alleged that the accused had prepared and submitted forged documents, including a Municipal Date of Birth Certificate, Domicile Certificate, School Records, Voter List, and Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), before the competent court in Srinagar.

The preliminary inquiry established that the accused’s actions prima facie constitute offences punishable under Sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Consequently, a formal case has been registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Kashmir.

The statement said that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
