Fire Destroys Residential House in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A single-storey residential house was gutted in a massive blaze at Cheyan area of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

An official said that the house belonged to Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, son of Mohd Jabar Shah. The fire broke out early in the morning and quickly spread through the structure before locals and Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot to contain the flames.

“Efforts are underway to douse the fire completely,” an official said, adding that the cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. However, no injuries or loss of life have been reported so far. (KNC)
