Srinagar: Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Secretary of the Administrative Reforms, Inspections, Public Grievances, and Trainings Department, J&K, was accorded a warm and elaborate farewell on attaining superannuation, marking the culmination of a distinguished career in public service.
The event saw participation from senior bureaucrats, officials of the Secretariat, civil society members, retired teachers, scholars, and eminent personalities from Kupwara and other districts. Dr. Dar’s contributions across multiple departments and his role in strengthening governance and administrative reforms were widely acknowledged. Colleagues lauded his professional integrity, dedication, and approachability, describing him as a “down-to-earth, upright, and honest officer.”
Master Nazir Ahmad Bhat, senior teacher and Vice President of JKTF Kupwara, highlighted Dr. Dar’s mentorship and guidance to younger officers, noting that his efforts had left an indelible mark on the administration and the community. “Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar is not just a bureaucrat; he has been a teacher, guide, and a pillar of integrity for all of us,” he said.
Dr. Dar, originally from Chontipora Mawer in Kupwara district, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all attendees. He said, “It has been an honor to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I am deeply touched by the presence and kind words of my colleagues, friends, and members of civil society. Their appreciation makes my farewell truly memorable.”
The farewell also celebrated Dr. Dar’s efforts in fostering a culture of transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric governance in the department. Officials present noted that his initiatives in streamlining public grievances and inspections had set benchmarks for the department and will continue to inspire future officers.
The occasion concluded with warm wishes for Dr. Dar’s post-retirement life, with everyone expressing confidence that he will continue to contribute to society in new ways.
