Jammu Kashmir: Security Forces Launch Search Operation

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Wednesday launched a search operation following reports of suspicious movement in the Rajbagh sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said, as reported by Daily Excelsior.

According to officials, the operation was jointly carried out by the police and the Border Security Force (BSF) along the Ujh river near Jhathana village, close to the International Border. Locals had reported the presence of three suspected individuals, one of whom was carrying a large backpack.

Acting on the input, joint search parties moved into the area and have been conducting a thorough combing operation since early morning.

Although no suspects have been apprehended so far, footprints confirmed the movement of individuals, officials added.

The operation was still under way when the last reports came in, they said.
