Ganderbal: In a major breakthrough, Ganderbal Police on Wednesday arrested two persons allegedly involved in a murder case reported from Kangan.
Police said the investigation revealed that the accused had disposed of the victim’s body by dumping it into a canal. After an extensive search operation, the body was recovered and an FIR (No. 64/2025) under Section 103(1) BNS was registered at Police Station Kangan.
The body was later handed over to the family after completion of medico-legal formalities. During the preliminary investigation, officers recovered a wire believed to have been used in the crime. Police also said that a close friend of the deceased has emerged as a key eyewitness, whose testimony proved crucial in cracking the case.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal described the arrests as a significant step toward justice and confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to trace all individuals linked to the incident.
Reaffirming its stance on tackling violent crime, Ganderbal Police said it remains committed to upholding law and order and will act firmly against those involved in such offences.
