Kashmir Power Discom Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns in Multiple Districts for Upgradation Works

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns this month to facilitate various upgradation and maintenance works across north, central and south Kashmir.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdowns will enable execution of key works including conductor twining, branch cutting, line height raising, channel fixation and upgradation of receiving stations.

To facilitate twining of conductor from 100 sq mm to 2×100 sq mm on the 33 KV Handwara Old line and branch cutting along the Machil Tap line, the 33/11 KV receiving stations at Zachaldara, Adoora and Changimulla will remain off, affecting power supply to Zachaldara, Wadipora, Wadder, Changmulla, Adoora, Hanga, Haril, Lach and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm on September 24 and 27.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Machil Tap line has been scheduled on September 25 and 27, from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm, during which the receiving station at Machil will remain off, affecting supply to Machil, Chountipora, Dapal, Ring Bala and adjoining areas.

For LILO work of the Receiving Station GMC Baramulla, shutdown of the 33 KV Baramulla 1st line will be observed on September 21 from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm. This will impact supply to Baramulla-I, Kanlibagh and GMC Baramulla, affecting areas including Short Delina, DIC, New DIC, Old Army, Main Bazar, Ushkara, PHE, Sangri, Microwave, Kanlibagh, GMC and adjoining localities.

In central Kashmir, shutdown of the 33 KV Pampore-BK Pora line will take place on September 21 from 09:00 am to 12:00 noon for raising the height of Pampore-BK Pora and Pampore-Chadoora lines at Pahroo Bypass Chowk and Lasjan Bypass. Power supply to BK Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chattergam, Kenihama, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Aribagh, Chackpora and adjoining areas will be affected.

Likewise, for fixation of channels on the 33 KV Ahmadpora-Arizal Tap line, shutdowns are scheduled on September 23 and 25 from 10:00 am to 04:00 pm. Power supply from the Arizal receiving station will remain off, affecting Arizal, Zanigam, Raiyar, Doodhpathri and surrounding areas.

To carry out upgradation and stabilisation of the 33 KV Alasteng-Nagbal line, shutdowns will be observed on September 24 and 27 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. This will affect power supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri and adjoining areas.

Additionally, shutdown of the 33 KV Alasteng-Zakura line has been scheduled for the same days and timings, affecting supply to Gulabagh, Ahmadnagar, Umarhair and adjoining areas, including Pandach, Pathan Colony, Mir Mohalla, Nowbugh, 90ft Road, Khalmulla and Ahmad Nagar.
