Srinagar, Sep 19: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will host Punjab in a four-day first-class practice match at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium from September 21 as part of preparations for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.

According to Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) officials, the bilateral arrangement will see both sides play one match each at home, with J&K later travelling to Chandigarh for the return fixture.

The J&K squad will feature senior players including speedster Umran Malik, all-rounder Abdul Samad, pacer Umar Nazir, and seamer Auqib Nabi. Punjab is expected to field its full-strength first-class side comprising Ranji Trophy regulars.

As per the JKCA officials, the four-day fixture at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium will be open to the public.

“These matches are crucial practice opportunities ahead of the Ranji season, and both teams have agreed to engage in home-and-away fixtures,” a JKCA official said.
