
SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, accompanied by Minister for Education, Health and Social Welfare Sakeena Itoo, on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a Rest House at Damhal Hanji Pora, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.94 crore.
Addressing a public gathering, the Deputy CM said the government was committed to strengthening infrastructure across all sectors to provide better services to people. He directed the concerned engineering wing to ensure timely completion of the Rest House and other projects while adhering to quality standards.
Choudhary added that the Omar Abdullah-led government was determined to fulfil its promises, citing ongoing initiatives to improve connectivity, expand public amenities and promote inclusive development. He stressed that transparency, accountability and a pro-people approach remain top priorities.
Minister Sakeena Itoo said the establishment of the Rest House would enhance the development profile of the area. She added that the government, under Omar Abdullah’s leadership, was working with a clear vision to ensure holistic growth across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Health Minister also highlighted that several long-pending projects had been restarted, and new schemes, particularly in the health sector, were being sanctioned to improve the well-being of people.
