SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Chairman of DPAP, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives in the Jammu region due to recent natural disasters.
In a statement, Azad condemned the cloudburst in Rajgarh, Ramban, which claimed the lives of four individuals and left several others missing. He also expressed deep grief over the landslide in Reasi that killed seven members of a family.
“I am deeply pained by the cloudburst in Rajgarh and the landslide in Reasi. These tragedies have caused unbearable grief to the affected families,” Azad said. “My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families, and I pray for the safety of those still missing.”
Azad urged the authorities to provide immediate relief to the flood-affected families in Jammu and Chenab Valley, stressing the need for proper arrangements to help the victims in the wake of the natural calamities. With more rainfall predicted in the coming days, Azad called on people in vulnerable areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
He also commended the swift response of the Indian Army, JK Police, and SDRF, praising their efforts in rescuing people and restoring connectivity in the crisis-hit areas. “Their timely action and dedication during these difficult times deserve high praise,” Azad added.
