IGNOU Extended the deadlines for fresh admission.
Srinagar: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for fresh admissions and re-registration for the July 2025 session to 31st August 2025. Candidates can apply for Master’s, Bachelor’s, PG Diploma, and Diploma programmes through the university’s online admission portal.
Dr. A. H. Rizvi, Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, said this extension provides another opportunity for students who missed earlier deadlines. “This is the final chance for candidates wishing to enroll in IGNOU’s programmes for the July 2025 session,” he added.
Admissions and re-registrations are being facilitated through 30 Learner Support Centres (LSCs) across both union territories. Dr. Rizvi highlighted that IGNOU continues to expand its academic offerings, introducing around 60 new programmes, including Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUPs) under the NEP 2020 framework and new postgraduate courses in Geography, Geo-Informatics, Applied Statistics, and Renewable Energy.
Undergraduate programmes now include FYUPs in Commerce, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Philosophy, and Biochemistry, among others.

Fresh admissions are conducted online via the SAMARTH portal. Applicants must create a User ID and Password, and have ready their academic certificates, photograph, mobile number, email ID, and payment details. A DEB ID is required to submit the application.
Dr. Rizvi also cautioned applicants against fraudulent calls, QR codes, or payment requests on WhatsApp or social media. “IGNOU does not collect any fees outside its official platforms,” he warned.
