Poonch police seize machinery, vehicles in illegal mining drive

Poonch, Aug 25: Police in Surankote seized heavy machinery and multiple vehicles, including a Poclain machine, JCB, tipper, and two tractor trolleys, during a crackdown on illegal mining in the Suran river, officials said.

Acting on specific information, police said in its official statement, a swift raid was carried out by the Station House Officer Surankote, during which all machinery and vehicles were seized on the spot.

The mining department was immediately informed for further necessary action.

Poonch Police stated they were firm in their resolve to take strict action against the illegal mining activities and urged the general public to extend cooperation by sharing timely information related to illegal mining activities.
