Inzmam Khan’s journey from border hardships to NEET success

Rajouri, Aug 20: In the mist-kissed hills of Line of Control (LoC) village Basooni in Balakote, where the mountains whisper stories of sacrifice and resilience, a farmer’s son has risen from humble soil to the summit of academic success.

Inzmam Khan, a 20-year-old farmer’s son from Basooni, a Line of Control (LoC) village in Rajouri district, has emerged as Jammu and Kashmir’s NEET star after securing All India Rank-02 in the Reserved Backward Area category, a feat that has inspired hope across border communities.

Born into a family of modest means, Inzmam grew up watching his father toil in the rugged fields, his hands hardened by years of labour yet his heart full of dreams for his child.

The boy lives in village located on Line of Control (LoC) and is considered to be an area situated under the shadow of guns.

While other children played, Inzmam studied late into the night under the dim glow of a bulb, his father selling farm produce to buy him a second-hand NEET book, his mother quietly saving every rupee for his future.

The turning point came when the Ace of Spades Division of the Indian Army recognised his potential and stepped in with a mentorship programme that changed the course of his life.

Under their guidance, he received free coaching, motivational sessions and rigorous doubt-clearing classes. His mentors not only sharpened his academic skills but also instilled in him an unshakable belief, telling him, “You’re not just a student; you’re J&K’s pride.”

That belief became the fuel for his relentless preparation.

When the results were declared, Basooni erupted in celebration, his relatives, neighbours and friends thronged the Khan household, showering congratulations.

Tears welled in the eyes of his father, not just for his son’s achievement but for the hope it brought to countless children in the region who now believe that their dreams too can break through the toughest barriers.

Inzmam’s success stands as a testament to the power of hard work, guidance and perseverance. His journey from the soil of sacrifice to the heights of success has become a rallying cry for students in Poonch, Rajouri and beyond.
