Kupwara: The Annual Deeni Ijtima (congregation) of Madrasa Roza-tul-Taharat was on Sunday held at Government Higher Secondary School Tekipora playground under the leadership of Mufti Abid Farooq Mir of Sopore.
The event, marked by spiritual fervor, witnessed the participation of nearly 2,500–3,000 people, including students, scholars, and members of the local community.
Prominent Islamic scholars, among them Maulana Haneef of Potushai and Maulana Ghulam Hassan of Tangcheck, among others delivered sermons highlighting the significance of Islamic teachings, spirituality, and moral values in contemporary society.
Speakers also threw light on the importance of girls’ education as per the Quran and Islamic principles, and stressed for the need to imbibe and practice the teachings of Islam in daily life.
The gathering created a devotional atmosphere, with participants attentively engaging in the religious discourses. As part of the proceedings, 15 girl students of the Darul Uloom were conferred with Dastarbandi (graduation ceremony) at the conclusion of the event.
