CM Omar Sanctions ₹2 Lakh for Deceased, ₹1 Lakh for Injured as Ex-Gratia Relief – Alfaaz – The Words

Kishtwar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced ex-gratia relief for the victims of Kishtwar cloudburst tragedy, which has left over sixty persons dead and over a hundred injured.

An amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided from the CM’s Relief Fund for each deceased person, ₹1 lakh for those severely injured, and ₹50,000 for those with minor injuries, announced CM Office.

For property losses, the CM announced ₹1 lakh for fully damaged structures, ₹50,000 for severely damaged structures, and ₹25,000 for partially damaged ones.

The relief, the CM said, is aimed at providing immediate assistance to the families affected by the tragedy, while rehabilitation and restoration measures will continue under close monitoring.

The CM in the meantime reiterated the government’s commitment to extend all possible help to the victims of the disaster and directed officials to ensure timely disbursal of the announced aid.
