Srinagar: The Committee on Government Assurances of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly convened at the Assembly Complex in Srinagar on Saturday to assess the progress made in implementing commitments related to the Health Department.

Chaired by Committee Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, the meeting was attended by members Ch. Mohammad Akram, Javaid Ahmad Mirchal, Iftikar Ahmad, Mian Mehar Ali, Mohan Lal, Sunil Bahardwaj, and Shagun Parihar. Senior officials, including the Secretary Health and Medical Education and Directors of Health Services for Jammu and Kashmir, were also present.

Emphasising accountability, Lone urged that assurances made by ministers during the Budget Session must be acted upon without delay. He highlighted the committee’s critical role in upholding transparency and ensuring the government delivers on its promises.

The Chairman further directed the Health Department to hold regular consultations with stakeholders, enabling consistent monitoring and timely fulfilment of all assurances made on the Assembly floor.
