Kupwara: Vice Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir on Wednesday chaired an awareness camp organized by Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments in far flung Batgagal village of Lolab. The event aimed at sensitizing local farmers and livestock rearers about various government schemes, modern practices, and welfare measures in the animal and sheep husbandry sectors.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kupwara, Dr. Shabir Ahmad; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Ishrat; VAS, Dr. Fayaz, concerned officials and large number of farmers attended the awareness camp.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers, progressive breeders, Panchayat representatives, and officials of the concerned departments. Technical experts provided awareness on scientific livestock management, disease control, and breed improvement techniques.
On the occasion, the experts provided thorough awareness to the participants about the HADP Scheme and ISDP.
In his address, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir emphasized the importance of livestock in the rural economy of Kupwara district especially far flung areas of Lolab sub division and urged youth and farmers to take advantage of the latest schemes and technologies being introduced by the government.
On the occasion, supplements and medicine kits were distributed among sheep and animal farmers.
