KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown Across Kashmir Parts

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of Kashmir on August 6 and 7, 2025 to facilitate infrastructure upgradation, maintenance, and ongoing project works.

According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, the 33KV Khansahib Tap line will be shut down on August 6 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM for erection of ST poles and conductor shifting at Bugroo village. As a result, 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Khansahib, Raithan, and Brenwar will remain off, affecting electricity supply to Brenwar, Surasyar, Shenipora, Khansahib, Raithan, Yarikhah, Gurwaite, Watred, and adjoining areas.

On the same day, to facilitate road widening and strengthening works, shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh SIDCO line has been scheduled from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This will impact power supply from the Rohama, Chakloo, MID, and Irrigation Seer receiving stations, affecting areas including Ladoora, Chakloo, Tragpora, Shutloo, Nadihal, and Gurseer.

Additionally, reconductoring works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) will necessitate a shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh–Watergam line on August 7 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The outage will affect receiving stations at Hadipora, Watergam, Hachipora, Ganapora, and Safalpora, disrupting supply to surrounding localities.

In Pulwama district, the 33KV Pampore–Lethpora line will undergo shutdown on both August 6 and 11, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, for LT AB cabling and segregation works under RDSS. The power supply from Konibal, Lethpora, LIS Lethpora, and Mills receiving stations will be halted, impacting areas including Samboora, Lethpora, Patalbagh, Chandhara, Konibal, and Dussoo.

Separately, the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL Kashmir, has announced a shutdown at Grid Station Kulgam on August 6 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to replace a current transformer of an 80 MVA power transformer. This will affect electricity supply to Yaripora, Behibagh, Ashmuji, Kelam, Devsar, Chambgund, Neloo, Rambhama, DH Pora, Chawalgam, Nagam, Kulgam, and adjoining areas.
