SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in various districts across the Valley in the coming days due to the erection of poles, circuit construction, and maintenance activities.
According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL, power supply will remain affected on August 3 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM in areas fed by receiving stations Beerwah, Khag, Arizal, Magam, Aripanthan, Mazhama, Ahmadpora, Kunzar, Kongamdara, and Batpora due to erection of ST pole outside Ahmadpora Grid and Magam Market.
Similarly, due to the construction of the 33 KV Lassipora–Pulwama-II circuit under Phase-II from 160 MVA GIS Lassipora as part of the power evacuation scheme, power supply to receiving stations including Pulwama, Pinglena, Tenghar, COVID Hospital and MM Floor Mill will be affected on July 29 and August 3, 6, and 10 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In addition, branch cutting of trees along the alignment of the 33 KV line will cause a shutdown of the 33 KV Pulwama–Pinglena Tap line on July 31 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, affecting power supply to Tenghar, COVID Hospital, MM Floor Mill, and adjoining areas.
Power from the 33 KV Sharifabad–Narbal line will also be interrupted on July 29 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, affecting receiving stations at Narbal, Sanoor, Railway Station, and Mazhama.
Meanwhile, the 33 KV Shamsipora Tap line will be shut on July 29 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, disrupting supply to the Shamsipora receiving station.
The KPDCL has urged the public to bear with the inconvenience and cooperate during the maintenance and augmentation works aimed at improving the power infrastructure across the region.
