
SRINAGAR: The annual Machail Mata Yatra 2025 commenced today in Paddar Valley, Kishtwar, drawing pilgrims from across Jammu and Kashmir and beyond to pay obeisance at the revered Chandi Mata shrine in Machail. The pilgrimage will continue until September 5, 2025.
Officials stressed the importance of maintaining sanitation along the route, especially in landslide-prone areas, proper road conditions, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and secure facilities at langar points. Provision of foolproof security measures and real-time coordination among departments was also reviewed.
Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar informed that adequate facilities have been put in place from Kishtwar to Chishoti and onwards to the shrine, including langars, toilets, help desks, medical booths, and security checkpoints. He urged pilgrims to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to designated cut-off timings for crossing specific locations to ensure safety.
The review meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, SSP Naresh Singh, ADC Pawan Kotwal, PO ICDS Dr. Rishi Sharma, SDM Paddar Dr. Amit Kumar, Tehsildar Headquarters Sunali Rani, and other senior officials. They were directed to ensure continuous monitoring and coordination for the successful and safe completion of the pilgrimage.
